BORDERLANDS BOX OFFICE FLOP
Borderlands received bad reviews from critics before its release.
Now that doesnt always mean a film is going to perform poorly in the box office, there are many examples of films not being rated highly by critics yet have done extremely well with fans. In the instance of Borderlands this was not the case.
Borderlands in its opening weekend made a mere $8.8 million domestically, and $7.7 million internationally, giving it a total of $16.5 million globally.
Variety, which supplied the box office numbers, said that figure was "embarrassing."
This makes the film a huge flop considering it had a budget of $115 million with another $30 million for advertising and distribution.

THIS WEEKS RECOMMENDATIONS
LONDON
This is a relatively unknown film but its absolutely worth a watch.
It stars a young Chris Evans, and even more interestingly, a Jason Statham, with hair!
A great story that a lot of people may be able to relate to, and although covers some deep scenarios, has some great comedic aspects to it in my opinion.
Great performances from that cast and shows how a great film can be made on a low budget.
AMERICAN PSYCHO
This film is an absolute cult classic.
This film has become the face of many memes today, especially with the “Sigma” trend.
But this isn’t the only good thing about the film.
With great dialogue, and an amazing performance from Christian Bale, this film not only makes a satirical play on New York 90’s yuppie culture, but is also absolutely hilarious in doing so.
It is personally one of my favourite films.
It’s not everyone’s cup of tea as it has some harsh themes, but it’s definitely worth a watch.
And that’s it for this weeks issue!
